QSI Programmer Software Updated To Support Windows 7
QSI Solutions has upgraded all of its drivers and software for the Quantum Programmer for Windows 7 compatibility. Unfortunately, due to the necessary driver update older versions of Q2 Upgrade (v1.12.0.1 and earlier), Q1a Upgrade (v1.4.0.0 and earlier), and Quantum CV Manager (v1.7.0.0 and earlier), will not function with the new drivers. To reduce confusion in the future, new versions of Q2 Upgrade (v1.3.0.2 and later), Q1a Upgrade(v1.5.0.0 and later), and Quantum CV Manager (v1.8.0.0 and later) will require the new driver set to work, as will all future updates to the software.
Steps for installation of new drivers/software:
IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMOVE ALL THE OLDER PROGRAMS BEFORE INSTALLING THE NEW ONES.
- Go to Add or Remove Programs (for Vista users it's just "programs") in your control panel.
- Locate the USBXpress driver removal (highlighted below) and click "Change/Remove" then click “Uninstall”
- Highlight the remaining QSI software and click remove on each one.
- With the programmer plugged in install the new driver set. When the wizard is complete click on the balloon that pops up on the bottom right hand side of the screen which says “Found new Hardware” and you will be directed to a Windows wizard which will finish the installation.
- From here you can extract and install the new application programs normally. IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT YOU DO NOT NEED TO DISPOSE OF SOUND FILES OR CV MANAGER FILES AS THESE ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THE UPDATE. ONLY THE APPLICATION PROGRAMS NEED TO BE RE-INSTALLED.
If you are currently using the Quantum Programmer all you need to do is extract and run the Installation Wizards. Everything should update normally. We recommend installing the driver files (SiLabs USB Drivers) first then moving onto the application programs. When the driver file installation is complete power up your programmer and click on the balloon that says “found new hardware” in the lower right hand corner of your screen. From here you can finish the driver installation as per the installation guide which came originally with your Quantum Programmer.
