New Life for All Factory QSI Locomotives
Posted on 15. June 2011
QSI principal Fred Severson announced today the release of newly developed technology that would provide all owners of the many 100,000s locomotives with factory equipped QSI sound systems the opportunity to upgrade their sounds to the popular Q2 Revolution sound decoder sound files. The Quantum Programmer would be needed to do this.
This new software will allow users of the factory installed Q1a sound system to "Cut & Paste" their own sounds in the same manner that they can with the popular Q2 decoders (i.e. Quantum Revolution and Aristo/Magnum series). The smaller memory on the Q1a chip is a little more restrictive than that of the Revolution decoders which means Q2 features like the alternate horn and progressive chuff will not be available, but now factory installed sound system users can benefit from all of the new sound files that QSI Solutions has released in the last two years.
This is production release of Q2 (Revolution) firmware that runs on Q1/Q1A hardware.
